In this introductory capoeira course you will develop and enhance the necessary gross-motor skill physically and cognitively that is commonly used in the art of capoeira. You will increase your sense of balance, hand eye coordination, speed agility, core muscle strength, and over all a stronger sense of awareness, confidence, and self esteem! You will also develop a better understanding of the different aspects of the art of Capoeira such as Music, Culture, History, and Dance.
In this 5 week session (10 classes) you will learn how to use kicks, sweeps, elbows, headbuts, feints and escapes, that will all be marked by extensive use of ground work and a swing like movement called "GINGA" along with the 3 basic capoeira elements ESQUIVA, NEGATIVA, ROLE. When you have completed this course you will be physically prepared and confident to jump right into the regular beginner program and continue your progression in art of CAPOEIRA!
